This is a commanding mid-century modern display cabinet from Drexel’s Counterpoint collection, designed in 1957 by John Van Koert. The case is fashioned from wild-grained cherry with contrasting supports in ripe mahogany. The front is fitted with two doors which open into two levels of adjustable shelving. The doors are accentuated with round mahogany medallions and solid brass knobs. The tambour doors on each side recess into the back, revealing additional shelving. The case is mounted on black hairpin legs for a sleek finish. The cabinet measures 60” wide / 17.5” deep / 58” tall. It has been professionally refinished.
